Hi there, we have a HKC secure watch system in our house for about 2 years now. All working grand but a couple of nights ago the alarm went off at 4.30am. Control panal showed "back windows". all grand, no sign of intruder so back to bed. Anyway, yesterday morning when I pulled up the blind it set the alarm off again. Then, this morning at 6.30am it went off again. I ran down and reset it, the panel flashed "alarm event, alarm gross, back windows" Now, I guess there must be a faulty sensor on that window and it probably needs a service at this stage, but can anyone tell me what "Alarm gross" means? Never seen that before. Thanks x

    Hi Bridgets Mum,

It is more than likely a faulty sensor on the system. You would need to test the sensors on the faulty zone to determine which one is faulty. If you have shock sensors on the back window that activated the alarm when you opened the blind this would of activated the alarm giving you the gross attack message.
There are two different detections on the zone. e.g Gross and Pulse.

Gross Attack - Detect a violent blow sufficient in length to trip sensor.
Pulse Count - Detect a sufficient number of less violent blows (rapping or tapping).

Hope this explains it for you..

Thats great Altor, thanks a million. Gonna get a service done cos have had the system for a couple of years now. Do you know how much I should be paying? Its a 4 bed detached 2 storey house, wired alarm, not monitored. Any idea? Cheers :)

A alarm service should cost between €80 and €100.

You cant use 0 in eng or user code or 9 as the last digit. If you enter 0 on the HKC keypad it clears the code as if you made a mistake.
