just discovered this on windows7, not sure if vista had it, and not sure if ye all know about it

when watching live tv, type in a time (between current time and time when you started watching the current channel), and press play and it will jump back to that time.
example so if the second item on the 9oclock news was good, press 2105 and press play and it will jump to 9:05

when watching recorded or downloaded programs or films, you can press in the time in minutes and press play and it will jump to that time

so for example when putting on a 50min barney episode for the kid, press 40 and play and it will only play the last 10mins

to skip adds, count the ammount if times you press the skip button to skip the add break, and for the next add break press this number and skip and it will skip that amount of times in 1 go

example, if you have to skip 5 times to avoid an entire add break, just press 5 and skip next time

    finally
if you want to go back or forward a certin ammount of seconds type in the amount of seconds and press fast forward to go forward that many, or press rewind to go back that many

so for example to go back 2mins press 120 and rewind

    Wow!!!

I was not aware of any of those features and they are all very handy.

One I did notice which is not listed above is if you hold down skip forward (or backward probably) it will use the progress bar to show a small picture of where you want to go to. Skip will then skip by I think 15 mins at a time. When you find the right place, hit ok.

I think thats how it works. I'll check later tonight.

    Well spotted mukki.

it works on xbox extenders too

strangly there is no mention of this on the web anywhere, thats why i was worried that it was always there

it is by far the biggest reason to upgrade your mediacenter to windows 7.
