Hi all, its me again :)

Just wondering, if I buy a JG G36C, what should be the top 3 or 5 things you'd swap (and what you'd swap them for)?

I'm assuming battery and charger would be fairly near the top off that list but is there anything else you guys reckon could be better with it?

    1. Battery
    2. Charger
    3. Guarder silicone hop.

Hmmm, whats one of those then? Sounds either like part of the sighting system or part of the gearbox.

Part of the barrel and hop up chamber assembly, the hop up is what gives backspin to the BBs, Guarder silicone hop up rubbers, are better than the stock, they give better range and accuracy.

    Ah, cool. pretty important so.

Is that all that needs changing on them? seems a low price for a pretty good gun (not that im complaining but I've always grown up with "you get what you pay for".

To be honest you could just leave it stock and it'll be grand.

    Guarder Hopup,
    Bearings/shim,
    Madbull Barrel.

(internal cleanup, free to do) and you'll have some very good performance with all that done. expect very good range from the madbull and guarder combo too, :)

You dont really need a charger as the upgraded one will really only charge faster or have cut off etc etc. The JG battery's are pretty decent too, the better end of clone batterys in my opinion so you'll get away with that for a few months. (ive actually had mine nearly 3 years .,

I understand the barrel bit, and bearings are bearings (what would you swap them with?) and what is shim?

Some bearings are far better than others, metal bushings or bearings would be far better than the stock plastic ones.
Shims space the gears and set them at the right height and stop them from moving laterally in the gearbox. They reduce wear and tear and improve rate of fire.

Ah right. how do I know what to look for? and would I (whos never taken a gun apart before but is a fairly competant DIYer) be able to fit these new parts into the gearbox? or is that a specialist job?

There's loads of guides online for the G36, although in saying that version 3 mechboxes are rather annoying to work on (trigger...). Its by no means a specialist job, just take your time and be patient.
Good bushings or bearings would be Prometheus or King Arms, I use King Arms myself and find them great, the G&P ones are good too. As for shims, my personal preference is for G&P copper shims and Guarder steel shims. Then some TM gear grease for good measure.

Savage. ok, and the final question (for now..... lol) is how much are batterys/madbull barrels/hop ups/shims and bearings?

Thanks loads for the help :)

You can get the battery, shims, bearings and hop from Ehobby for a good price and MIA have the Madbull barrels.

Hi.You only get 1 short bottom RIS rail with the JG G36C so if you want to pimp it up a bit externally I reccommend you get some picatinny rails on ebay.I put the long set on mine and it does wonders both visually and practically. You can even properly mount a less expensive M203 launcher underneath-looks a wee bit odd-but does the job and costs a hell of a lot less than a dedicated G36 launcher.

Fireborn - There is a young fella out Barna who does wonders to AEG's. I now just get him to do all the upgrading for me as he is just downright amazing. I am sending my JG G36c his way for an Element Gearset, shimming, new bearings, air nozzle, new piston, new seals or whatever it is, new Guarder Clear Silicon hopup, MOSFET, Prommy barrel, spring (MS90 or MS85, basically whatever gives 320fps on his Chrono) and a nice new motor - the G&P one. You buy the bits, he does the hard labour.

Thats cool but I want to learn to do it myself. Will bear him in mind if I make a mess of it though :)
