The bikes lost more money than my car!!!
It hasn't lost anything until you sell it.
In my opinion (having sold a few bikes this year) you'll always have trouble shifting an aluminium framed bike near to €1k, because (a) some smartarse will always mention Planet-X, and (b) the cycle to work scheme.
That said, the new 2010 Audacio 500 (presumably an evolution of the S-Tech 500) seems to have 105 in the UK (for £1200) and Tiagra in Ireland (€1350, CSS). If someone doesn't mind an alloy frame, doesn't want a Planet-X and can't avail of the CTW scheme, then you might get a good price by offering them a nearly-new version at substantial discount.0 -

haha I saw the audacio alright and was suprised to see the components had been downgraded.....I see your point re planet x and the CTW scheme. I appreciate your input and I'll definitely be taking your advice onboard! But for the moment I think I'll mull it over ...:)0 -
