Encase people weren't aware of these new crazy fees. Any financial benefit that comes from having the tag for cheaper tolls seems to be counteracted with these stupid fees, and not to mention the already in place monthly admin charges for each individual tag registered to the account.

    Important Notice:
From the 4th of January, Easytrip are introducing two new fees.
    (i) For Direct Debit rejections due to refer to payer a fee of 3.30 (excluding VAT) will be applied.
(ii) For all account top-ups by Credit Card a fee of 1.00 (excluding VAT) per top-up will be applied to customer's accounts.
Customer's topping up with Laser or Direct Debit will not be affected by this fee. The monthly administration fees are not being increased.
Easytrip Services Ireland Ltd. is revising its terms and conditions for Easytrip customers.
The new Terms and Conditions will come into effect from 1st of January 2010.
A copy of the new terms and conditions is available for download at www.easytrip.ie

Any good or bad points about the other companies??
http://tagcompare.ie/ doesn't really help that much.

The first one is if the direct debit is rejected, in which case there is possibly some admin work involved at their end. The credit card fee - well, I've seen more expensive fees being charged by companies.

Not much to get concerned about IMO.

They probably have 2 fee's to cover on the credit card side.

    1) payment to payments facilitator such as realex or other similar company. Per transaction fee of no more than 20c/trans.

    2) Their facilitating bank will charge a flat percentage on credit card payments. which is probably around 2.5% or there abouts (rates are volume based). On a 20 euro payment that is 50c

So that's around 70c (it could be more or less in reality).

Add on vat which I presume they charge and they're rounding it up to 1 euro. doesn't seem overly excessive.

Afair banks usually charge around 2.50 per rejected direct debit so they're marking this up to cover their manual work chasing people.

It's not too bad, I certainly understand where they're coming from. We build those charges into our products, but there's nothing really stopping us doing the same bar the fact that it's a disadvantage. But when you've no competition you can do as you please.

Its €1 ex vat, the charge to the customer is €1.21. I have funded my account with a credit card for about 5 years now was never a charge.

I got that letter in the post.

    I read

Have no money we FVCK YOU.

    Have money NO CHANGE

EDIT BTW I got a new tag holder the other day for my replacement company car. No Charge. They could have charged me and this WOULD have be reasonable to expect it to happen.
