Before I tip toe off to couching in front of the t.v and tip toeing off to bed, I thought I'd rack your brain as to your thoughts upon this CD should you of bought it? I expected someone to buy it for me over Christmas which is why I didnt buy it and yet nobody did. :( therefore I bought it myself yesterday and I am addicted to it.

I suspected it to be just like normal gregorian chant ( which I love ) but it was great, and very modern, one of the tracks you'd think the beatles recorded it or something. Its composers came from 3 different Catholic backgrounds one from Italian, one from morrocan and another from England. so the mixture is so strange and beautful.

some of it was recorded in famous abbey road studio where the beatles recorded. its called ''Alma Mater'' meaning ''Kind/nourishing Mother''

alma has a few meanings but in my Latin dictionary it only gives the male translation which is ''Almus'' but my wife ( who speaks latin fluently ) said its the same thing.

so what did you all think of it?

Nah it's readings from the Holy Father, with added music.

Thanks, although I have extreme distaste for this title "Holy Father" being used in such a way. I know you meant no harm, though. :)

I think I heard about this. Does it feature the Pope singing?

Edit: I think I've just answered my own question. He does sing on this album. At 2/5 stars, The Times was less than impressed!

well taking into consideration the times is as secular and religious as the Author of Father Ted I think 2/5 would be expected from them anyways :P
