Will the uni be open for sure next week?

I know it's not a school or anything, but can we realistically expect the Uni to be open next week?

Since alot of the students have to come from quite far away and the grit running low etc, I dunno if a large number could even get to Galway?

In case you're wondering, staff know no more than you. No emails or anything telling us to stay at home, and we were in all of last week. Keep an eye on your student email account though: I know a few people who have cancelled this weekend who should have been teaching tomorrow, that kind of thing. The sounder ones will give you as much notice as they can, though the odd fecker sends out a late email via Blackboard on the day of.

I think if it was going to close we should have heard by now.
But (even though they've been back the last week) things are still "powering up" in the college so they mightn't have gotten around to it yet.

I'm relatively convinced that my course will start up again on monday. I got a Blackboard announcement last Thursday and I think the weather situation was known about at the time.

It would just be courteous for them to send out an email so we know either way. I know I won't be able to get down, I can't even reach the main road, which is closed anyway! Donegal's an absolute disaster zone! Roads covered in several inches of ice since before Christmas, and no running water for several days now!!
