    By creating a new folder in Windows 7 and renaming it with a certain text string at the end, users are able to have a single place to do everything from changing the look of the mouse pointer to making a new hard-drive partition.

    1. Create a new folder
    2. Rename it to GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
    3. This will change the folder Icon and rename the folder to "God Mode"
    4. Away you go :D

    Works with Vista also though some reports of a crash on 64bit versions

    There have been some reports that using <prefix>.{<GUID>} folders may cause unexpected results or repeated crashes, particularly with 64-bit Windows Vista versions. To recover from this, it may be necessary to boot into safe mode command prompt and delete the offending directory.



    TBH , am not suprised to see yet more undocumented features in windows, one wonders if anyone could tweak similar stuff to their advantage :(

    Oh come on, the "GodMode" tweak gives you access to all the control panel options in one spot.

    Its not some top secret magic API or anything!

    It's ye olde conspiracy theory , tip of the Iceberg etc.


    More of a gripe about undocumented features , and yes there have been secret API's in the past , even whole flight sims :(
