i beg to differ i put a bottle of spirit ( vodka) in my freezer and it became near solid but my freezer is set at -32 possibly on the cold side of things. i also blew up a bottle of champagne in it by forgetting i put it in there

You'd need to put a hell of a lot of vodka in to stop it freezing.
Alcohol freezes at about -20, (pure alcohol) vodka is about 37% alcohol, so if you put a full bottle in in a 3L tank, you'd be reducing the alcohol with mixing it with water.

And thats only if it did mix, when its left to settle, the vodka will settle under the water.

I'm sure there's some sort of anti freeze wash in any motor factors.

EDIT: My bad, alcohol freezes at about -100...but putting even a full bottle of vodka in a 3 or 4 litre container of water won't make any difference.

It's just that I have never hear of anti-freeze for the windscreen water, then i don't no nothing about cars.

add some of this to your water tank
    Vinegar freezes at -2.

Hasn't this topic been covered already recently. Just use concentrate screen wash, don't dilute.

I left a bottle of concentrate screen wash on the sit of the car and it's frozen solid :)

Don't know if it has been covered but i still have no solutions, ever time someone recommends something someone else says it won't work.

The proper concentrated screen wash is just alcohol with some smelly stuff and colourant added and should be frost safe down to something like -30 or -40 degrees.

I bought mine in a 5 l canister in the local motor factors and for summer use I dilute it with 4 parts of water and in winter time mix it 50/50. My washer bottle has never frozen yet.

Fan heater and a shag load of antifreeze or a flame thrower, or wait. once its happened Im sure its nearly impossible to easily fix it.

Didn't know there were different ones.

I know this is pretty silly to some of you, but if one doesn't know they have to ask :)

Halfords do a 5l bottle for about €7. Its good for -15 Degees Celcius if not diluted with water. Tesco also sell screen wash. It's only good to -5 according to the bottle.

I finished the last of a 5l bottle of winter screenwash I got from Lidl yesterday.
I added about a litre to the 4l washer bottle and it hasn't frozen on me overnight.
