Beardyman on The Late Late Show

Anybody see this? Beardyman (UK Champion Beatboxer) delivered his usual display of beats and laughs, only for Tubridy to swipe his hand over his skinny head in the most dismissive manner.

Way over your head Tubridy? Really? While you're busy compiling double CD's full of crooning fogey sh*t, Beardyman has been going down a storm in Europe's finest music festivals.

I seen him playing to between 4-5 thousand at Sonar last year in Barcelona. He had on his comedy had tonight, but he's capable of very tough techno, house and jungle. Not to mention funk, jazz, disco, soul and anything else you'd care to name. Very technical, stylish, genuine and original. I can see why Tubridy struggled with it!!

FFS relax, take it to the R&R forum!

It didn't seem like he was doing it maliciously, maybe just associating with most of the audience with their non-understanding of the coolness

Can't find a video that does this guy justice, but Reeps One is one of the best going for pure freestyle beatboxing. Saw him in TP basement a few months back and my god he pushed the Void system to the max...

Saw it yeah. Is he gonna be playing in Dublin/Ireland soon?

yeah I saw him on it tonight, must say I sat up when I saw a load of samplers etc set up on the Late Late show...he was very good but Tubridy was (as usual) so uncomfortable with it all.
Very entertaining, I'd like to see him live, must admit I'd never heard of him before tonight :o

He played at Mud/Kormac's Bakesale in the Twisted Pepper a couple of times in the last year and was meant to feature at the Airbound festival; I'd say the lads will have him over soon enough

    Beardyman is a don!

And however much of a greasy spanner Tubridy is he can't have provided teh Late Late audience with more cringe than Terry Wogan did when he had Cutmaster Swift on the Terry Wogan show doing a scratch routine the night before the 1985 DMC championships!

    Check it out, it's great:

Wish I had footage of PWEI on the Late Late with Gay Byrne, they trashed the gaff playing "Auslander"

I thought Tubridy was right out of order.

i actually wondered did RT assume the music was coming from the machinery and not the voicebox, and therefore nothing spectacular?

I'll never forget seeing that. I think I was about 11, and thinking this is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Have looked everywhere for footage but to no avail.

funny that yer man clint mansell went on to such bigger things with the film scoring lark (well he did that one big tune from requiem for a dream which has been used by everyone).
