Got a delivery today from Islabikes, a Cnoc 16 for my 5 year old and I cannot overstate how impressed I am with it. Its beautifully made, arrived well packed and only needed the pedals fitting and the handlebars straightening, even the tyres were inflated correctly. It weighs only 7.7kg compared to the 12kg bikes found in Halfords etc, and doesn't cost that much more. Including a delivery charge of £30 it worked out at €201 charged to my credit card.

I did consider a Cube 16, but it weighs more, costs more and isn't as well made. I also have a Cnoc 14 for my 3 year old and its just as good as the bigger version but has a rear coaster brake instead of the V brakes of the 16".

If you're in need of a childs bike you can't go wrong with an Islabikes bike. It may cost a little more than a cheapo piece of junk but you'll sell it in a couple of years and get a big chunk of the purchase price back, so it probably works out cheaper overall.

Ha, looks like it'd make a nice fixie conversion in a few years too, should help it hold value! :P

They are the preferred brand for discerning young ladies and gentlemen.

You're most welcome, they also sell optional mudguards and MTB tyres, even customised with your childs name on the frame - not a sensible option as far as I'm concerned, I'm not sure I like the idea of my childs name being readily available to any weirdo!
