Aonther car battery that wont start the car

ok, theres loads of these but mines a bit different.

The battery in my car has always been a pain in the neck, even when brand new it done the following:

after a few days not driving or a particulary cold night the car wont start the next day.

THis has happened since the Battery was new and what seems to happen is the immobiliser kicks in and stops the car from starting.

So with the recent weather its been doing it every morning, I have a jumper battery pack thing but even it wouldn't start it this morning.

Anyone any experience as to why the immobilser cuts in when the battery gets cold/runs low?

Your new battery was crap, and has a dead / dying cell.
I hope you have the receipt, if not, just dump it a
and chalk it down to experience.

The immobiliser kicks in below a certain voltage.
A new brand name battery Fulmen, Varta etc will fix
    this particular problem.

Its over two years old now! :D

Yeh I knew the immobilser kicked in below a certain voltage, didnt realise that the battery could be that bad as new

Cheers, was putting off getting a new batt because I thought it might have been something to do with the immobilser setup
