Hey all,

I often come across free downloads for a lot of Alt & Indie music when searching the web. All legal of course! I felt that if I found some, others may have too.
So come on share that musical wealth we all. I'll start with a free "mixtape" album from NME with 20 songs from different artists to look out for in 2010. http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog=15&title=the_official_radar_2010_mixtape_download&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
It includes like The drums, Ellie goulding and Kindness.

If you look at their previous blogs they also have few other tracks to download. NME are usually pretty good for the odd download. Clash magazine are too. So come on, Spread the love guys!:cool:

It hasn't been updated in a number of years but http://www.epitonic.com still has a wealth of MP3s from various deadly bands. It's a real pity it wasn't kept updated because at one stage it was amazing.

The Pitchfork website used to put up MP3s of the songs on their "Best Songs of..." lists. I think they've stopped doing it now though I got some great songs of the old ones though.

Is hypem legal though? All mp3s come from blogs which people upload the music to.

Hype machine is legal yes, you can just stream the songs off it with out downloading. The blogs themselves, it depends.

I'm not sure if this is the right place for it, but Team B, featuring some of the guys from Beirut who aren't Zach Condon, is offering a free EP download from their Myspace. Worth it if you like yer indie trumpets and accordions.
