Few of the lads I work with got the Iomega Screenplay and Director, I want something that plays .mkv files and 1TB storage...I know the first few are around €140-150 mark...I just want to get the best possible one rather than rushing into it, havent got HD TV at minute but definitely want one that plays all exisiting file formats...Any suggestions appreciated.... :)

    I have a WDTV and a 500JB external.
The wdtv doesn't house a hard drive, but it plays everything but DTS encoded sound.
WDTV Live does even that though.

Komplett wouldn't be the cheapest though.

    There's also a wdtv mini.
Or the ones on ebay that say they play mkv or h264 would work fine if you want something cheaper.

My experience with iomega screenplay director: http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055782908

+1 for wd tv and wd tv live

asus o!play has ethernet port, great codec support and as cheap as wd tv on komplett.

It may be better to have hd separate from media player, as hd do tend to have limited life spans.

What do you mean by this exactly?

I can play DTS encoded sound perfectly by using the optical output.

Do you mean *without* a dts decoder/amplifier, it cannot play it?
