Does anyone know the law on byo booze?

I want to set up an entertainment venue which will allow people to bring their own booze with them. I was wondering if it is legal? or what legislation it would fall under?.

I know that serving food would allow me to provide alcohol myself, and i wouldn't mind having a cafe out the front which would allow me to sell alcohol under a special restaurant licence but I'd prefer to just concentrate on the entertainment end of the business initially and let people bring their own,.. as i'm sure they would also like.

    I'd appreciate any insights.. Thanks..

not sure what license you would need if any, Just BIG insurance I'd say.

even if you didnt sell the alcohol could you maybe charge a "corkage charge"??

I'm sure your insurers would love you.

You really need to talk to a solicitor who deals in licensing.
