ipod cover flow question

hi all, quick question for those in the know as im not the most literate when it comes to the ipod.
basically i have itunes on my laptop for the past 2 years. version 8.0 something or other, anyways, the other day a message came up saying a newer version was available so i updated it. everything seems to be fine, apart from the coverflow thing on the PC. its no longer showing the album artwork. doesnt even show a blank box in the case where it cant find artwork. its just a black screen.
not the biggest problem i know but when your used to going through the tunes one way, i find it difficult to have to use either of the other two viewing options which are available (i think the pictures are purty!)
iv tried download all album artwork thinking that might do it but its no good (all the artwork was coming up on the previous version)

any thought/suggestions on what i should do?

did you click the box in the bottom left? (the one with the up arrow)

tried clicking the box on the bottom left, you can see the wee picture of the album in the corner but its not coming up on the coverflow.
