I DJ and Produce Electronic Dance Music under the name Captain Random.

Ok, so most of you regulars to Boards/KitchenSync will have bumped into me over the last year either online, at gig's around the country, or some of you even ventured out to Kildare to the Electronic Music Producers conference I organised a few months back.
Anyway, I thought I'd start this thread to introduce my music and mixes to those of you who might be interested.
On the production side, I'm signed to Dublin Xpress Recordings, I'm working on a few projects for Nice&Nasty, I've got remixes coming out on Gobsmacked and Red Robot Records in the UK.
I've been DJing regularly for almost a decade, which makes me feel a little old when I say it out loud, but I just love hearing good music in good clubs. I started out with Vinyl, but also use CD from time to time and more recently I'm known as an Ableton Live professional and got my artists copy of Ableton Live 8 last year.

All feedback, support and criticism is accepted. And hope to see some of you in the future at some of the gigs I'm playing.

I'll update this thread with new material as I post it to soundcloud. Here is a selection of the tracks I'm working on and hoping to release some of them over the coming year:

    New tunes I'm working on,

Test Pressing as always so its just the sequencing rather than the mastering

    May They Be Safe

    Simple but effective :)

Here's a new track I've been working on

Nice summery feel to it. Light and bouncy.

    Keeps Getting Better

Pauric Freeman is releasing his track "On the Long Fader" on DXR in the coming months and I've been working on a remix to compliment it.

Here's what I came up with:

On The Long Fader (Captain Random Remix)

    All feedback appreciated

It's really, really noisy. Give the track a bit of air and tone down the mids.

i mean this in genuine sincerity but is your hearing ok?
I ask because this sounds like a mix done by someone with extremely tired ears multiplied by 50.

the highs in that track are absolutely taking my head off. what are you listening on?

I was trying to be a bit diplomatic about it. My head felt like [edit] after listeing to it.
