Anyone got any good ideas for destimations for a family midweek break in Ireland? I havent seen a thread for this, if I have missed something that is already there.

Was hoping to find some kind of midweek special. We have two under 4, so ideally there would be a swimming pool to have a bit of fun. We live in Dublin so were thinking about taking the train to get to wherever we decide on.

Is Killarney too far? There is a huge choice of hotels there and they are bound to have specials this time of the year given how quiet things are in the tourist industry. Try the Gleneagle anyway.

Or maybe Kellys in Rosslare, though I think it is pricey enough.

Thanks Shanagarry. I was thinking of Killarney alright. I think I can get better value for money than Kellys.

You wont beat Kellys for young families. Pricey but believe me it is by far the best.

#too pricey for our budget I'm afraid. I just found the specials on discoverireland site, some good options there.

The Hodsen Bay in Athlone seems very family friendly

The West County in Ennis would be worth a look.
