email confirmation of credit card details..?

Email from website after ordering something recently pasted below.

...To process your order
efficiently, we request written confirmation of the order. To
confirm your order, simply reply to this email and provide your
name, credit card billing address and phone number. Please also
include the bank name and phone number printed on your credit card.
Please do not include your credit card number, expiration date or
card verification number in your reply. Please respond within 5
business days to prevent the order from being cancelled....

Never received something like that before...checked the website name was the exact same in email address (it is). Standard practice, legitimate etc?

Since they're not looking for the credit card number, and only looking to verify your email with the order, I'd say it's OK. You could first go to the website, and get a contact email. Ask them to confirm that it was them that sent the other request, then confirm the information requested. Tell them you're a little concerned it may not be legitimate.

Is it a trustworthy website, and did they have and SSL ordering page?
