USB Encryption

Hey folks, I was just wondering if anyone would know of a program, free or otherwise, that allows you to encrypt a usb key. Basically, i'm looking for something that will encrypt the key, and ask for a password as soon as the key is connected. Then once the password is entered, the key is usable as a standard usb key.

I've tried a few, such as Truecrypt and Cypherix, but they dont quite seem to do what im looking for them to do. Thought someone here might have a suggestion. Thanks.

I would have thought that TrueCrypt would meet your needs precisely.

I use TrueCrypt for encrypting my USB stick; it prompts for a password when I insert it and the USB stick then becomes available as a drive letter.

In what way does TrueCrypt not meet your needs?

I use truecrypt too, and it does exactally what you mentioned that you needed. Perhaps you don't have it set up correctly ?

Hi Kiith, there is a tutorial here on how to install it on a USB drive.

I'd recommend Truecrypt as well. Just don't forget your password.
