Missing exam on monday

I have an exam on the 11th, along with loads of other students, and it's not the snow that's keeping me back, it's illness. There's absolutely no way I'm well enough to go from Kerry to Dublin to do the exam.

I know you can repeat the exams if you fail them, but what if you don't do them at all? Does anyone have any advice?

    thanks!

ring into the doctor in aungier say you're sick. You won't be able to make it to the exam and will need a notice. Do it ASAP. When you're well enough to come in you come in and have a checkup to confirm this and get your note.

You should tell the doctor you're going to need to skip an exam and ask them the details (I can't be 100% sure) but when i was last there they told me if i was sick i should def ring in before hand and talking about all the people who wanted notes for exams that were coming in afterwards and couldn't get them.

Or better, get a sick cert from your family doctor now. You'll need the sick cert with your PC1, Personal Circumstances form.
But I think you can repeat the exams if you miss it anyway. It just counts as one of your strikes - you can only repeat the same exam a number of times.

See if you can get your hands on an extentuating circumstances form (maybe you can download one), fill that in, copy your sick cert and fax it to your lecturers (or have someone else do it as you are ill!). I had to do it last year for assignments, some forms to fill in but needs to be done.

It shouldnt count as one strike it should be counted as a frist sitting the next time you do it if you have the doctors cert, thats the way it worked out for me.

"Important update on DIT examinations for Monday 11 January:

Given the uncertainty of weather conditions and the availability of transport options for Monday 11 January, examinations scheduled to take place in DIT on that day have been postponed and a new date will be arranged as soon as possible.

NB - Examinations for the rest of next week will proceed as scheduled. "
