I already know of hoganstand for the GAA news and GAA Tipster as a forum.

Anfearrua can be good, but some topics descend into childish fighting. Also I dislike the way it quotes all the previous posts, makes the thread hard to follow.

Kilkennycats is pretty good, a lot of knowledgeable posters altho they can be pretty smug (understandable I guess)

Upthedeise is the Waterford one and to be avoided if u want any form of mature informed discussion.

http://www.anfearrua.com/ is good, but can get very off gaa topics at times.

http://gaaboard.com/board/index.php is very good, but mainly Ulster based. Has a decent Connacht crowd too. Needs a few more from Leinster & Munster to join up.

They are my other main 2.

Right you are, my IQ drops when I read some of the stuff on that place.

In contrast I always enjoy a good lurk on rebelgaa.com, some interesting stuff on there from time to time. Kilkennycats is only good if you ever wonder what it's like to support a county that wins everything all the time.

The Kerry GAA one can be quite good as well. Very informative and no childish arguments.

I use anfearrua but i would agree with all the drawbacks KevIrL mentioned. I'm also on upthedeise mainly for comedic value but their are some very good posters there too. P.D.S. , requiem and Deise Tom for example.

Since we are talking about other forums. Are ye guys lurkers or do ye have different usernames on the other forums?

    I've different usernames myself.

I'd recommend GAA Tipster to anyone as a really good interactive GAA forum to be honest. It's not that popular, but a lot of the posters know their stuff.

I'd agree there are some good posters on UTD but it gets dragged down by the idiots, and not surprising considering some of the nonsense that comes out of the site owner.

I use this name on all sites, but I actually only lurk on AFR and KKcats.

I use my old name (deise59) on all the other sites but I barely post much anywhere else.

Waterford and Kilkenny fans - something you wouldn't see on Hoganstand (probably one of the biggest GAA forums out there).

GAATipster.ie is the best forum around tbh. No childish comments at all, and everybody knows their stuff!

Hi - have been visiting this site on a regular basis but up until now never signed up I was reading this thread and felt obliged to join up.

Tbh HS is gone very poor full of WUMs and is now 'closed' from 10pm - and for lunch! The delay in posting time is also very poor.

AFR is good as are some of the county ones. GAA Tipster is a newish one but has quality posters like Boxtyeater Bocerty, RMDrive, Jayo Cluxton, Thomas Clarke, 3inarow, Samin10 Clash and others.

I mainly lurk on this site, the gaaboard and anfearrua and post occasionally.

I posted a bit more frequently on the Monaghan forum on Hoganstand but as has been said previously it can be a frustrating experience due mainly to the screening process employed. That prompted me to set up my own forum for Monaghan GAA supporters about a week ago.

I'm just trying to raise awareness about it so i hope nobody minds me giving it a bit of a plug.

    The address is: www.monaghangaaforum.proboards.com

I have a links section on the forum with all the GAA forums i have come across. I have added a few more that i had never heard of thanks to this thread.

Fair play to ya but just be careful about what gets posted. Keep a close eye on everything that's said and don't be afraid to delete anythong you deem to be dodgy. The last thing you need is a court case on your hands. This article may be of interest.

Thanks. I had heard about that incident alright, I am not going to allow any rumours about players or officials to be posted and hope to deal with any such incidents as quickly as possible.

thats serious stuff - looking after a website/forum could be messy - now i know why it takes so long for posts to appear on HS

without naming names there was someone who sued newspapers for reporting a slanderous comment by someone (not sports related). So its a very grey area.
