Rumour has it you risk being arrested for being drunk and disorderly if you smile or laugh walking down the street in Sweden.

Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

Yes, and in Sweden it's also illegal to have a baby without written consent from the government to ensure that the population remains at a manageable level.
