The show were a bunch of overweight Irish people document themselves losing about 2lbs over 6months.

    Great viewing.

Think its a good programme. Have to say if you were to go by the opinions of people on boards you would get the impression that evry programme on RTE is ****e . I think people on boards have just sunk into this habit of saying everything on rte is ****e just for the sake of saying it.

There are few exceptions, but on the majority it is true.

If it looks like shite, drops like shite, and smells like shite, then it's probably shite.

Because people will watch utter **** like this and it's cheap. The ratings on this will be huge.

Try putting something thought provoking or well produced/written in the same timeslot and it would bomb.

I think we also emphasis on RTÉ shows for example no one ever gets on to ask why Channel 4 continue to repeat Gillian McSkinny when she is a fraud.
If it looks like ****e, drops like ****e, and smells like ****e, then it's probably ****e.

    Go tell her that :D

It appeals to the feelings of the numerous slobs laying on their couches all around the country. Therefore, viewership figures will be high.

Bet you'll have trouble naming 5 shows that are considered good.

P.S The Panel is now crap, so it doesn't count.

I didn't mind watching the very first OT, but it is has gotten boring now. There is one thing I don't agree with, which it - why do they expect the people to lose an average of 5lb/6lb every week. I've read so many times that the best way (and healthiest way) is to lose 2lb a week. So why do they insist on them losing such a big amount every week.

If they made Gerry 'I Am The Walrus' Ryan participate instead of present then I would consider tuning in.

There are loads of good programees on rte that cater to all peoples tastes, however what you like might be diffrent to what old age pensioners like. For instance i think that nationwide and come west along the road are ****e programes old people think they are good programes. A sports mad person would think the premiership and sunday game good programmes but a fashion mad woman might thinke they are bad and may think off the rails is a brilliant programme.

What im tryin to say is that just becuase you think that rte's programmes are ****e cause they dont meet your tastes ,whatever they may be, doesnt mean that all the programmes are **** to everyone in the country. What you consider to be good isnt the opinion of the rest of the population. So give rte a break.

Clemon you're wasting your time with most of the whinging ****s posting here! If I hated RTE as much as they do I wouldn't spend my time talking about it on an internet forum - I'd find something to do that I actually enjoyed. You'd swear they were being held at gunpoint and forced to watch TV 24/7!
