I have recently registered with ACCA. I am undecided as to how I want to approach the 2010 exams. I don't know whether to go to Griffith college or to do online learning.

I spotted this website: http://www.kaplanfinancialonline.com/online-learning.html that offers online learning. It appears very good and something that seems appealing to me, but I am not sure. I would be very interested to hear peoples opinions on the idea.

That looks absolutely brilliant... I wish I'd done that.

What do you mean though that you've registered with the ACCA already? I think for this one you register from scratch for the exams & everything, no?

That website looks like there's a really hands-on approach to learning - much better than the Elevation programme that I'm doing. I'm going to see if any of it's relevant to my course....

I wish there was an online course in Management Accounting :-(

    Thanks for the link!

    Hi Guys,

    I've also used www.opentuition.com.

It's 100% free (they make their money from advertising). The quality of the notes and lectures are quite good.

    Good luck!

Funny, I was going to post the same question when I looked at the online learning site last week.

I have done 2 subjects in Griffith and I am not convinced that the quality and style of lectures is what I was expecting from the reputation of the college/tutors and also the price paid for the course. I did the last 2 exams by home study and even though it is much harder this way in terms of discipline etc, at least I wasn't frustrated in the classroom... Another thing that appeals to me is the flexibility of using this resource when I'm ready for it, not having to sit a class after 9 hours at work when the brain is crying out for a break!

F9 will be next on the list for me and I don't think I can do it all by myself so online tuition seems like a good option. Will have to compare to whats on offer by OpenTuition and decide soon enough. There is also online tuition available by London School of Business & Finance, but I don't know anyone who has used it:

Do these sites do Irish Variant lessons?

I have to do Tax and have a small baby so can't go to lectures. I know I won't be able to do it by home study alone but do these sites only cover UK tax or Irish tax too?

    Hi

I have decided to dp F5 & F6 homestudy with BPP.

I have placed my order for the texts etc, however they wont be available until Feb. They have sent me an audio CD and little flash cards for F5 as they had them in stock. I havent listed to the cd yet, but the flash cards seem like they could be really useful just before the exam as they have little bullet points of the main areas.

I had a quick look at open tution at the weekend and its seems absolutley brilliant. I have printed out some of their notes and listed to a few audio lectures.
I'm working full time and I've been out of college for over 3 years now so I'm very nervous about it all.

gowayouttadat - I'm doing the Irish Var in Tax, but BPP do not have cd or flashcards for this subject, its just the text etc.
You should have a look at their website - http://www.bpp.com/ireland/ACCA/homestudy-ACCA.asp
