This may sound like a stupid question but how do Sidi shoes compare to other shoes size wise? Are they narrower/ wider ect...? Reason being I am thinking of buying a piar on the net so won't have the chance to try them on.

The standard sidis are quite narrow but they also do a wide model - mega wide or something they call it

I have reasonably wide feet and fit into standard Sidis- they don't constrict my toes at all although they are a bit narrow along the length of the foot.

I wouldn't call them narrow as cycling shoes go, they are narrower than Specialized but far wider than for example Adidas/Mavic.

I read the narrow sidi thing and on first wearing, they did seem like they were about as tight as my older DHB shoes. However after a few days on the bike they loosened up.

changed from DMTs to Sidis towards end of last year and yes definatly found them to be more of a snug fit width wise overall probably a better fit to be honest

I wear these types of puma shoes casually. They are kind of a "sporty" fit, like football boots but with a regular sole job:

    puma-mens-size-WB-shoes-2.jpg

    They are size 44.5

My Sidis are about a size 45 and I reckon one size too big for me, my next pair will be 44. So for me, the "they are tight fitting" argument doesn't apply and I have never found them tight or narrow. Basically, if you find a good online offer and don't mind paying for the return postage, take a gamble and go for your regular "sneaker" size. Ideally you should try on a pair before buying, if you want to try mine on you are more than welcome to pop over.

Just to add to the confusion ....
I have quite wide feet, and went with the Sidi Mega which are slightly wider than standard, and I'm glad I did. They're fine in warm weather, but even now I can fit quite thick socks in them without them being too tight. Megas can be difficult to get in some sizes.

..they also only seem to do them on some of the range.

I have wide feet, and managed to drop a size with the Mega - they are certainly a much better all-round fit for me

I'm a size 42 in all my shoes but for Sidi's I need a 43, has anyone else had to go one size bigger? Its a pain in the arse when ordering on the net having to send them back

I had Specialized before my Sidis, and find the Sidi slightly narrower but a good fit. My feet would be too wide for Adidas stuff I've tried.

Yes. 44 in Specialized, went with 45 in Sidi, fits very well.

Thanks alot, think I'll go for a 45. I'm wearing 46 runners at the mo and they are ok but could be slightly smaller, tried on a few different types yesterday and 45 seemed ok.
