An American 3v card?

Not sure if this is the right forum for my query, please move if needed :)

I'm looking to buy a nokia n900 from Dell's US site. The saving is around €200 on getting the phone from an irish site so is quite the deal, unfortunately they are requiring a US credit card to complete the transaction.

I've an address to deliver it to in the US, but don't really want to ask to put hundreds of dollars on their card.
Is there any US equivalent of a 3V card that would be acceptable to Dell is there? A quick google brought up things like Obopay and top1card but I've no idea if it would be accepted, or how safe those sites are. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'd imagine the issue is not with an irish/american card, but with an irish/american billing address.

Ordering from Dell.ie, You must have the delivery address registered with your cc provider. I'm guessing that this is the same thing and that they will only ship to an american address that is registered with the cc provider.
