Help choosing a laptop please

Hey guys,
Meager budget of about 400 bucks. Looking for something with as much bang for the buck as possible.
Minimum 15.4inch screen, not going to be used for games / gaming.
Something like this maybe?

Research has indicated to steer clear of advents and toshibas in the range, anyone any alternatives?

I know the dell outlet store online is open today at 5pm after a long absence. Might hold off to see what they're offering.

I'd think the first one over the next two. Don't like Semprons or Celerons as a general rule.

But it's a packard bell easynote. I havent had much experience of them tbh.

Was looking at both of these as i am on similar budget...might be worth considering, not made up my mind completely but from some research i think the acer is the one i will go for:

Picked the father up a Packard Bell in Currys Belfast before Xmas. 480 euros

Im sure they have the same spec in the south for around the same price or less now in the sales.

Great laptop.

4Gb RAM
320Gb HDD
Windows 7 64Bit CPU

Ive had it for him while i set it up and i must say its performance is very pleasing

Any idea which model? Something in that area would be ideal tbh.
I'd be looking to up to windows 7 or XP from vista asap.

Its an Easynote. I think the model number is TJ65

But pop into a local Currys or maybe PC World and take a look. It is a nice looking machine also. The one thing i dont like is the left and right mouse click on the keyboard. Its one of those continous bars which seem to be common with alot of new laptops these days but i use a small USB mouse so it doesnt bother me

Comes standard with Windows 7 now but it was the amount of memory which swayed me.

I was in currys earlier on today and the easynotes they had were not of that calibre at all.
