Just need some advice on where i can get a new rubber piece that fits at the bottom of the filter holder as there is a small tear in mine.

Now i have tried kenelworth electric but they do not have any and will not be getting them in for the next while and cant seem to find it on line.

    Any suggestions?

Did you try happydonkey.co.uk? Email them for shipping rates to Ireland.

The part I believe you are looking for is called a "group seal".

I picked one up from kenelworth electric about 3 hours ago for €18.

When I tried to order from Scott in happydonkey yesterday i received a return mail stating that they were no longer delivering to Ireland.

Just as a matter of interest, what sympthoms alerted you to the tear in the group seal?

Were you getting a drip from the group head during heating? I think our Gaggia in work might need to have it's seal replaced but I'm unsure if those are the correct.

ok guys and girls for the record -

the group seal is now being replaced by a larger metal cup where the ground coffee goes so no fear of tearing any more! MAkes way more crema also

I noticed the tear as when the coffee was being made and coming out the spout it was spraying all over the place rather than dripping.

Thanks again for all the help

If you are making espresso and the water is coming out around the handle instead of through the coffee as intended, this is a definite sign of seal wear( note it could also be overpacking) but most of us know how to fill the portafilter.

Also the handle pulling way too far to the right could mean the seal is worn, you may need a shim when replacing the seal if this is the case!

This dripping will bring coffeegrains into the espresso, making it terrible to drink!!
