ISO 8000!

    Popped out into Clondalkin Village last evening and shot these, mostly at IS0 8000 @f2.8. Have to say I was surprised at the quality.

    Wow, that's about as noisy as my D80 is at ISO 1600 :(

    nice sharpness .... dont think I'll convert just yet .... with the new Canon gear out - gonna wait.....try that ...and if it doesnt impress me enough....will jump ship to the dark side.

    (see that I made a funny.... canon white lenses to nikon "dark side" black ones ...ohh oooh.....I'm funny when sitting alone posting stuff on the interwebs)

    Great performance, but..............surely at the cost of THAT camera and lens you should be more astounded if you didn't get those results. BTW I saw an A3 print from a 5D Mk II at 25,600 ISO and it was fab.

    No need to be anymore careful in the village than anywhere else in Ireland ;)


    All images were taken handheld.

    @Morrissee - Possibly, but my normal usage is sport, events and news so have not really pushed the kit to it's capabilities

    .......its the 1st thing I would have done :p. A Nikon D3 with 300mm lens, sorry I'm still drooling !!!! :D
