    Hi,
Anyone know what sort of condition the Dublin road into Trim is like at the moment ?
Supposed to be based down there all week but have only made it down 2 days so far...would it just be too risky to go down tomorrow ?

It's fine, went to Dublin and back today. N3 to Trim not an issue, Dublin on the other hand is a mess.

On the live update on the AA website it says the roads around Trim are very icy ? Did you see any of this - did your journey involve the early morning ? I am due to be in Trim at 9am from Blanchardstown...

Left Trim at 6.40 this morning. Was -8C but there was little or no ice about. Managed to keep a decent speed of 55 to 60kph all the way to the N3. Just keep a long distance from the car in front and keep it steady, slow down at the Dunshaughlin roundabout and through Batterstown and Kiltale and you'll be fine. The N3 from there to Clonee was ok, but Clonee in to town was bad - very lumpy frozen roads. Problem is that nearer Dublin, the snow looks to have turned slushy and froze then making very slippy roads.

Pretty much same on way back, but the Dublin roads were better at that stage (around 3.30pm). N3 to Trim was fine - same as above really, just take it handy and keep a long way back from the car in front.

Trim @ 9am from Blanch will be a doddle imo. Leaving at 8am should give you plenty of time, you'll be going against the traffic.

Nothing wrong with the roads around Trim. I've commuted to Dublin every day, sometimes twice a day with no problems.
The biggest problem is the muppets driving at 30kph on gritted roads.

How is trim looking at the moment ? Roads very slushy ? Snow compacted on the roads ?

Road is absolutely fine. Drove to Ikea this afternoon, roads just wet - no ice/snow at all on it. Was able to drive at the speed limit for the first time in weeks. Was 4C when I arrived home, so the thaw is well and truly here.
