I was told by Anan1 (Moderator) to open a new thread, I just wanted to continue this discussion --> http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=63832811

Would this be ok to run in small cars like Nissan Micras?

    Thanks.

Yes. Use the search, has all been discussed before.

Yes your car will run on it ok however you will not get the power gains that performance cars will get from it. It may even reduce your fuel economy.

Your car may also be harder (or take longer) to start as the ethonal in E5 requires higher tempetures to combust so I wouldnt recomend putting it in a this time of year unless you need to due to the octane requirments of your car.

    Thanks stealthyspeeder.

JHMEG if you don't have something to add to the conversation there is no point in posting. I tried to post on an old thread and was told to open a new one.

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother posting on here when I know I am going to receive negative replies like the one that you have posted.

Again thanks for the useful information stealthyspeeder.

Hi HotSwap. The issue of digging up old threads is mentioned in the 'Motors Charter & FAQs - read before going further' at the top of the page. Re JHMEG's advice, the subject of E5 has been discussed many times here already. You're welcome to ask again, but you'll find a quick search will throw up a lot of useful information on the subject.

There is nothing negative about my post. Search, there is an awful lot of info on the topic of bio-ethanol, much of it by me.

I did do a search, thats how I found the thread you locked. I then opened this thread, because you told me to remember. This is pointless and totally off topic, my thread is now a disaster, thanks.

This is now more of a discussion of when it is ok to post in old threads.

All it says in the charter is:

    * Old Threads - don't resurrect old threads unnecessarily.

I asked a pertinent question in a relevant thread. To me that is not unnecessary. In my opinion its another case of over-moderation.

I have better things to do with my time than argue on a forum so this will be my last post on this thread.

    Regards,

    HS.

Bearing in mind that the OP is no longer posting in this thread, that the subject matter has been covered before in detail, that the OP's question has been answered, and that the thread is now looking to become a debate about the Charter rather than E5...

    ...thread closed.
