Got a Packard bell laptop last October, not a problem with it, used it for course work etc. Got an internet stick a few weeks back and since then nearly everytime i use the internet the laptop freezes or shuts down on it's own or else a blue screen appears. could this be a virus? should i get it repaired? advice welcome!

More than likely there is aa hardware issue with the device you plugged into your laptop. Bring the device back to where you got it and ask for replacement.

Agreed. Your laptop hates your "internet stick."

your pc doesn't like the drivers from your internet ,you may have a conflict on one of the ports . Try and go to the manufacturers website and load the latest drivers for your OS ,as they could be xp drivers and your pc might be running vista.
