2000 micra - doors locking themselves in cold weather

    Hi,

I have a nissan micra approx 120k miles on the clock, it has central locking. The problem im having is that during cold weather the doors lock themselves...

So for example, when I unlock and open the doors to get into the car in the morning as soon as I take my keys out of the door, all of the doors lock. Then once I turn on the engine I hear the locking sound again. The same thing happens again when I get out of the car, in that once I take my key out of the ignition the doors lock, i unlock them to open the door and as soon as the door is open they lock again.

Has anyone any idea what might be causing this? I am going to bring it into the garrage at the weekend, but would like an idea about what might cause it so that I know what im talking about.

    Thanks in advance

    hows it going,

i take it your car is a 98-02 K11 model...the LH and Rh door actuators (and door locks) have terrible trouble on this model micra. I would start checking these...

    hope this helps

I would guess that this is a built in failsafe by Nissan to prevent you from killing yourself:D
