Need motivation

Hi all, going unreg for this one. I have gotten so lazy in the past year (since 2009), I work in a pub and this involves working late into the night after cleanup eg it can be 3am or after before I get to bed. I spend most of the next day in bed until maybe 3 or 4pm. I just feel that my life is passing me by. I set my alarm to get up early but I just hit the snooze button and go back into a deep sleep. I think because I don't have anything to get up for that I'll stay in bed for the day. I know I'm wasting my life but I have no energy or motivation to get going or get up out of bed. My friends work 9-5 and then I'm working from 6pm on. I work in a city and sometimes on my days off I'll go home, but I'll sleep well into the afternoon here too as I've no one around to do stuff with.

Basically does anyone know how I can get motivated. I can't do evening courses/classes as I work evenings and during the days there are not many classes on, I am not making excuses but I just feel like I'm missing out. When I'm working my friends are off doing stuff, going places. I can't change jobs because I'm not qualified for anything else. I would love to just get into the habit of getting up early without hitting the snooze button and going back to sleep for the day. A few times I have got up early but there is nothing to do, I do be on my own unless I go down town for a look but that's about the height of it.
Sorry for rant just wish I could be more motivated or have something to look forward to each day.

You need to get a new job. Your current lifestyle isn't suiting you.

You are living in a different timezone to everyone else and this can be very depressing. You need to motivate yourself to apply for jobs during the day. You already have a fully understandable reason for leaving your current job.

Getting up early is very important for your energy levels and your mental health. I am speaking from experience. Again, you need to get out of the going asleep at 4am rut. If this means getting a new job, do it.

Poor thing, sounds like a nightmare!

Why don't you try and change some of the days around so you are working earlier shifts some of the time?

Also, if not a member of a gym already you should join one. If you were to get up at say 11am every day and do an hour in the gym, you won't believe the amount of extra energy you will have.
