I like this one. Hold the Irish stock, in at 10c so happy so far. There appears to be great potential (N.Korea, Tanzania, US) so by year end 2010 it should be up closer to 22c or above.

Not sure if this stock will retrace by a large percentage, it just keeps on building momentum.

As always do your own research before investing in any shares mentioned on this board or any other board for that matter.

If you agree that the share price will be 22c by year end why not just buy now. Or buy half so you don't miss it completely

a few things ranger......i've had a little look at the stock

    - is this JPM pump the market notices of it exceeding an 8% threshold which it went below in august and over in july?
    - what is this RNS you are waiting for considering they had a trading update this monday already?

This was EGLINGTON in a previous life. it promised riches beyond dreams, it was the El Dorado of the oil stocks, drilling in Colombia. The shares went from pence to over £3 and then collapsed, bring down many, including an Irish Stockbroking firm.

This wouldn't happen to be the same stockbroker that had a constant buy rating on AEX? No sympathy from me!

Why would i take on board any of your advise when you clearly adopt an inact stance with irish financials, Maybe you should be prepaired to act on your own advise.

yes, jpm buy and general interest in buisness media has helped create present jump, Rns news investors are now waiting on would be from Tullow oil who holds a 50% stake with Likonde-1 well with aminex at 37.5% and solo oils 12.5% stake.

God it wasnt so long ago you used to PM me every day begging for my advice. What happened to us?

Anyway how are the two cases comparable. I've never shown any interest in Irish Financials whereas you have clearly stated you believe this stock to be heading to 22c. If you believe that then you should be in, not waiting for some mystery pullback that you are forecasting

Just to clarify, I think the interest in this share is due to its partnerships and drilling explorations rather then the buy from J P Morgan. Aiminex has farmed out 12.5% of a potentially high impact well on the Ruvuma block in Tazania to energy investment group Solo Oil. Under the terms of the agreement solo has agreed to pay $1.3m in the back costs and 18.75% of the costs of drilling Likonde-1, the first exploration well to be drilled on Ruvuma for which a rig contract has been signed.

Solo is entitled to a wider interest in Ruvuma by contributing 12.5% of the cost of further wells drilled in the permit. Aminex has a 50% position in the block as a whole, which is operated by fellow 50% stakeholder and one of the sectors biggest explorations success stories Tullow Oil. The farm out to solo makes a contribution to Aminex net cash level. Plus its drilling in Tanzania could be transformational for Aminex.

Secondly, the share price will retrace but I doubt it will retrace back to 10 cent or even come close.
    That's just my opinion.

Aminex has a massive cult following from many investment boards around the world, Motley fool is probably the most prominent. This link will provide more information on the company and its investors views.

Yep i,ve sent the odd pm but every day? I am waiting rightly or wrongly for sp to retrace which my gut feeling tells me it will before i buy, The same gut feeling which in part made me buy aib at 0.29c and boi at 0.20, smurfit at 1.80.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,152 ✭✭✭Idu

And they were the only times you bought AIB and BOI??

I don't know why you get your back up so much whenever anyone asks you a simple question anyway. You still haven't told us the reason you think there'll be a pullback. If it's just a gut feeling then fine but that's why I was saying to maybe put half your investment in now so if your gut feeling isn't correct then at least you'll still have some money in.

I actually admire your conviction with your picks but I do think your rational judgement gets clouded whenever you hold a stock

My reason for possible pullback is as with any stock especialy gas-oil stocks which are highly volitile, when sp climbs with rns after a week or so their seems to be a iminent selloff with profit taking which sends their sp back to support Level as has been the case with most gas-oil stocks including petroceltic and aminex on past rns, I know past trends is no guarentee of future trend of given stock but feel sp will retrace maybe back to 0.11-0.12c within 10 days or so.

Your gut feelings not looking good. You may pray tullow drill a duster. I was slightly worried that I overpaid Friday at 13p but I didn't want to be out over the weekend. JP Morgan Chase added another 1.5mill to their holding too. Rumour has it that they want more.

I advise to get in shortly or wait for drilling results then jump on the bandwagon.

Sp on the move with lots of buying on media reports etc, Tanzania well drilling started today, when are we likely to have drilling results?

oh "We" you bit the bullet then? ;)

Expected results 2months but I expect a drilling update via tullow before TD

Aminex has increased 10% per day the last two days. Everyone is catching on!!!! Increase on the isq yesterday too think it was about 15%!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 562 ✭✭✭Comordha

It could be the next GKP supposedly. Anyway I think the 1/4 chance of success can now be assessed as 1/3. Information must be leaking. Tullow are the real deal afterall - 77% success rate (http://www.tullowoil.com/our-business/exploration-success.html)

    16 July 2010

    Aminex PLC

Louisiana Drilling AGREEMENT WITH EL PASO

Aminex PLC ("Aminex") announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary Aminex USA, Inc has entered into an Area of Mutual Interest Agreement ("AMI") and a Joint Operating Agreement ("JOA") with El Paso E&P Company, L.P. ("El Paso") covering 960 acres, to explore the potential of the deep Wilcox formation which is believed to lie under the Shoats Creek area of Beauregard Parish, Louisiana. Wilcox sands were encountered during drilling within Shoats Creek by a previous operator in 1989 but for operational reasons never tested and these sands are clearly identifiable from subsequent 3D seismic data acquisition.

The AMI is designed to cover a particular prospect which is thought to span the AMI acreage of the two companies while the greater part of Aminex's Shoats Creek acreage will not be included in the AMI and will remain 100% owned by Aminex.

A suitable rig has become available to drill at Shoats Creek and a first well, designated Olympia Minerals-10-1 ("OM-10-1"), has now been spudded. Targeted total vertical depth ("TD") is 12,000 feet (3,740 metres) and Aminex owns a 50% non-operated interest in this well. Aminex estimates that drilling time to TD will be approximately 3-4 weeks, subject to any unforeseen operational delays.

Aminex chairman Brian Hall commented: "We are very pleased to be combining forces with an experienced deep drilling operator to explore the Wilcox potential of Shoats Creek, following painstaking interpretation of 3D seismic, and to be sharing the costs of this first deep Wilcox exploration well which is a continuation of our active 2010 drilling programme".

+20% today. Seems as though all is going to plan with El Paso. Big potential here now as rig drilled far deeper than expected and nobody is too sure why. We should get update either Monday or early next week. Not too late folks.
