    Hi...
wondering if any one can help me or maybe I should be on another section of boards.

I have been receiving crank texts from another mobile over past couple of months.

The number came up and when I rang it a guy just said.. you must have wrong number.

The number also came up on my missed calls a couple of times.

It is an Irish mobile no.

Should I report it to Garda or is there any way I can find out whos number it is

    Thanks

Well I'd start with ringing your phone provider. They might be able to get the number barred.

Ring the Gardai first give the times & details. The operator cannot give you any information about the other caller/texter. The Gardai can request this information but you may have to push the Garda a bit to get something done. In fact you would be better to call into the station.

I would suggest reporting to your mobile operator first before the Gardai. They will advise you on what to do. The Gardai will ask you if you have contacted your operator.

When you say crank texts what do you mean? Are they abusive? Do they suggest that the person knows who you are? It's quite possible that the person has your number incorrectly entered in their address book. This is a matter for you and your operator and there is no need to involve the Gardai at this point. Unless it escalates.
