    It is possible!

I think the general rule is, if there are 10 days of consecutive severe weather, then the season closes for 10 days.

common sense is all you need, i wouldnt hunt now as you would nearly pick up the birds by hand coz there so hungry,il want birds for next year.

Just to add an arguement here, if you don't kill off as many cock pheasants as possible bar a few, you will be left with too many which will bother the hens when they're sitting on eggs which will be detremental to next years birds anyway. The dominant fella will chase the surplus ones off & they will wonder into un-controlled grounds where they will just become fox food. They are bred to be shot once released & they should have access to hoppers of food all year round so they shouldn't be hungry or lethargic if they are being looked after...
I would considor giving the ducks a break alright but pheasants are fair game in my eyes. They will be fully repopulated next year through a lot of work & expense.

True one cock would probably do the whole club, but there's no sport in shooting birds if they are getting to weak to fly, so use common sense. I for one am going to go out Sunday morning for a couple of hours and I'll judge things for myself unless told to stop by the powers that be in the mean time.

    Agree & well said.
Particular attention should be placed on hoppers to ensure the are well fed.

Think it's been closed in Scotland, possibly NI as well as I've definitely heard rumblings about that up there. Not heard a word about here though.

it would happen, it already has on driven shoots in the middle of the coountry, there was a shooting times article on it, but this is a board for hunting not a board for politics so we'll end it with that ;)
