Can a uk debt collection company pursue someone now resident in Ireland?

I had my ex gf's mobile phone bills in my name and now they want £700 from 4 years ago. Only started getting the letters last week to my Irish address. Can they force me to pay even though I am now resident here or whats the story.

    Thanks

Yes they can sue you for the money - most likely in this case in the UK, and then enforcing the judgment against you here.

    You need a solicitor.
