    US Open: Mickelson.
    Pga Champ: Westwood

If Harrington wins one, I reckon he'll be strong enough to win a second - perhaps the same two from 2008, although the Masters also looks possible. It all depends on his start to the year. The 'Greatest Irish Sportsman Ever' may inspire him.

    Masters: Mickleson/Westwood

    US Open: Ogilvy/Stricker

    Open: Harrington

    PGA: Westwood/Mickleson/Furyk

    Masters: Big Phil
Open Championship: Tiger / Rory / Paddy or maybe Poulter or Westwood
US Open: Tiger (if he plays)
    US PGA: McIlroy

who knows there are usually at least two shock winners that nobody expects

Augusta : Phil Mickelson (his recent record there is unbelievable.)

U.S. Open : Tiger (If he's there), Mickelson again if Tiger isn't there.

    The Open : Lee Westwood.

    U.S. PGA : Steve Stricker.

    augusta: Tiger
    US Open: Tiger
    British Open: Tiger
    Uspga: Tiger

Us open at pebble beach and British open at st. Andrews are two of his favourite courses so i expect him to definitely win them imo.

Not going to assign players to actual majors but reckon based on last years form Stricker must get himself into contention in at least one major and that wristless shortgame of his is perfect for the final 9 nerves.

also, mickelson if can keep 2009's momentum.

Garcia wont win diddley unless he's had a personality overhaul over the break.

Podge is a really solid bet if he can control the now habitual wrecklessness on day 4. Ronan flood needs to step up to the mark this year and get his man focus calmly. i shudder to think of how many titles he could have bagged had he held his nerve.

Ross fisher anyone? Agree that Watney looks to have pedigree. For the love of god not Poulter please.

    Villegas cant putt for sh1t.

Westwood HAS to make a tilt at something this year surely. with a heavy heart i reckon the wizard of banality jim Furyk is coming back to his dazzlingly grim best.

i strongly fancy Zach johnson, Ogilvy & Cabrera.. but not in homo way.

Not expecting to see TW this year, but hope to be pleasently surprised.

    Masters Mickelson/Westwood.

    US Open Stricker/Harrington

    British Open Stenson/Westwood

    USPGA Oglivy/Z Johnson.

This is with Woods not playing. With him Playing I still dont think he will win amjor even though he Loves St Andrews and Pebble Beach.

Its hard to nominate one per major so went with two who I fancy give it right good shot.

This might be Westwoods year to get of the mark in major.

Rory, Ross Fisher and Westwood (2).

We won't see Tiger Woods this year.

    David Duval may come close.

whoever put rory ross fisher and westwood is dreaming,
Harrington for either the Masters or the Open, I dont think Garcia has the mental Wellbeing for Majors, i would think Paul Casey has to be considered, Phil Michelson, Cabrera, and possibly Adam Scott,

The way people are going on here you'd think i was saying something ludicrous lol. Any major he plays in 2010 he's going to start as the clear favourite. I fully expect him to be back playing by march before augusta imo. Last time he played pebble beach he won by 15 shots. He has won the last two opens at st. andrews and his record at augusta speaks for itself. Now i'm not stupid its far more likely that this isn't going to happen than it does but i think out of all the predictions made by people on this thread it is by far the most likely imo.

Why cant Westwood not win major?

European Player of year, he back in good form, sorted out his fitness and mentally he as good as ever being in his career.

He might not win but im pretty sure he be in top 3 in least one major and the way he playing will win major within next 3 years imo.

LOL, I have to say I'd fancy a Woods grand slam before Adam Scott winning even one.

On another note dismissing Fisher, McIlroy and Westwood as fantasy may be fair enough as 3 major winners in a season but individually none would surprise me in the slightest. Fisher was the most consistent through all 4 majors last year and that can't be sniffed at.

My open bet will be Westwood, with a few quid on Chris Wood, silver medal winner in 08 (T5), T3 in 09 and rookie of the year.

I can't decide on the rest yet.

Masters : Tiger : just to add to the legend

US Open : Furyk : has another major in him, this will suit him

Open : Villegas : he not that good, and it will be his only major, but he will sneak it. Kinda fade over the following few years though and be seen as a 'minor' major winner

USPGA : Mallinger : American, lurking just outside the top 100, never really done anything, never really going to do anything afterwords, quiz question you wont be able to answer in about 10 years time. A cert.

Masters: To go with the kind of anti-climax finishes (for me) of late, Tiger will win by 9 shots with an eye candy caddie or two on his bag.
US Open: Harrington will win this, adding another string to his bow.
The Open: Duval, the stuff of fairytales...
PGA: Poulter, a shocking pair of pants on him and all...

Adam Scott could be a major player on the PGA Tour this year.

He has finally sorted out his personal life and is %100 focused on producing his best work on the golf course. He has decided, wisely, to have golf as the most important thing in his life in favour of surfing & partying which has taken up most of his life in the past couple of years.

A player to keep on the right side in 2010.

Never realized any of the talent he had as a youngster In-tuition to be fair. I've heard that same line for the last five years. Perhaps your'e right and he will finally take his head out of his arse.

I could never back him to do it though!

Some of the birds he's had, if it was me i'd happily sleep in and miss my Sunday morning tee time!

    Masters - Nick Watney
finished 19th in 2009, 5th in driving distance, 1st in greens hit, putter cost him - improving by the day in that sphere. In 2008 he finished T-11, 3rd in driving distance, T-2 in greens hit. Big year ahead.

    U.S. Open - Retief Goosen
2004 winner @ Shinnecock Hills, 2001 winner @ Southern Hills. Finished T-12 in 2000 at Pebble Beach. T-14 & T-16 in last 2 outings of U.S Open. 3rd at AT&T Pebble Beach in 2009 where he shot 64 on the Pebble Beach course.

The Open Championship - Paul Casey
shot 2 rounds of 68 & 67 in Alfred Dunhill Champs in 2007 on the old course, shot 68 in 2006 & another round of 68 in 2008. Should be fully tuned up come July.

    PGA Championship - Adam Scott
finished T-9, 3 shots behing the winner, when the PGA last visited Whistling Straits, he was ranked 1 in driving distance and T-7 in putts in that event. Has put the past couple of years behind him and is %100 concentrated on being a top-class professional golfer, this victory could be the icing on the cake and provide the success given the hard work he is currently putting in on the practice rounds. A big year awaits

Scott and backing should never go in the same sentence! :D

I for one know that, I bet on the guy more times than I could ever imagine, in the earlier days, not in the last few years but he has totally changed and I think his golf could do the talking this year. Let's hope so, he is a fantastic prospect to have back.

It was me who said Rory, Fisher and Westwood...........you'll need to explain why I'm dreaming as they have as much a chance as anyone outside of Tiger (who I said may not be playing). There are lots of "lesser" players who have won majors. Westwood is in cracking form and is a fantastic player. Rory is as good as anyone on his day. Fisher is a solid player..........dreaming...........I don't think so.
