    hey there

    i am building a 32x24 garage,cavity wall

i was going to use polystyrene insulation in the cavity(100mm)

i was told to build the wall and pump the cavity after,it was more effective

my question, what is the cost difference between the 2 ways?and which is more effective?

Pumping the cavity should be cheaper - as its faster to lay blocks without insulation boards and the pumped bead is very cheap. Wheather its more affective is a matter of opinion.

This is fine for a detached garage.
IMO insulation boards have advantages over pumped bead. Lots of threads on the different methods of insulating a cavity and maintaining cavity trays & dpc's.
