By carrying your clubs with a correctly designed golf bag will you strengthen your back muscles?

it will help strengthen your back muscles ,plus you wont have to walk as far as those with electric golf trolleys

Carry my bag all the time, probably will get an electric trolley this year though, due to rounds in medals & weekend comps taking over 5 hours. After 18 holes I feel more of a strain in my calf muscle than my back and really thats not worth talking about. If reasonably fit carrying a stand bag for 18 holes is no bother.

Carrying a bag gave me a back injury,so i went for the electric trolley and have found it way better than carrying.

No I don't think carrying a bag will strengthen your back.

Pulling a trolley used to strain my back but I find a good carry bag to be much better (you need a good balanced bag with dual straps that distributes the weight evenly on both shoulders).

i got myself an Ogio Ozone standbag in american golf in dundrum village over the xmas.... for €119.... comes loaded with sweet little innovations.

best bit is the "arc-lite" stand legs that come out and return in an arc to avoid hitting your shin as you pick up & go.

chomping at the bit to field test the blooming thing.

.... spose i could walk down to tesco with it on.
