I have several pairs of cycling bib knickers all with flat seems, however, on long rides they all rub in the same place...it's a small area about the size of a 5c coin, on the outer most stitching where the chamois is sown on and the two seems meet. It rubs on the same small spot on the...ahem...inner thigh, (I didn't think it was appropriate to say gonad). I have tried various chamois creams; udderly and chafe-ease and it helps but doesn't prevent it, It's the same on all the shorts, bibs etc. Suggestions?

Never wash your shorts with detergents, I wash my cycling gear together with only water. One I heard from a guy the other day was he brings his shorts into the shower and then leaves them to dry.

You could try wearing light underwear between skin and shorts or put a cover (ie plaster) over the seam.
Perhaps if its happening with ALL your shorts then the problem may lie with your saddle position/angle or your 'skin' position:o.

Sudocream ? Or check a different brand of shorts.

A product called Bodyglide might do the trick for you . Also instead of sudocream try E45 nappy rash cream .

I think trying different shorts is the obvious answer here. I have and have had several and there is the occasional one I just don't get on with and the ones that are most comfortable.

    +1 on that.

Most shorts I have tried disagree with me. Only the bottom of the range Specialized ones with minimal padding work for me.

Also you could try wearing very tight shorts as there will be less movement of the material and less change of gathering in any particular area.

Some say that E45 can be irritating on the skin. Vitamin E content? Not sure. Can't remember who told me that, maybe my GP.

I have a lot of dry skin problems, and use HC45, but it doesn't seem to help that much. I think mine are diet related or something. More cake needed!
