how to tell if an iphone is fake?

Hey,

So im going to have a look at a 3gs later at lets just say a very reasonable price.

How can I tell the the phone is not a fake. I know all the obvious ones like th two batteries, with phone etc, like all the iphone clones. The thing is I dont have access to itunes to check if the phone connects so all i can go on is the imei really. They can be found on the sim tray and the back of the phone as I am lead to believe? would this be right?

any other things to look out for?

Setting-General -about and also legal should give you quick idea.
take a pic and then go to photo gallery and try to Multitouch, Zoom in and out.
App store.
if you have used iphone before then you would know straight away if not watch video on you tube and check that.
