    Hi,
I had a Dell Dimension Desktop and I am now considering getting a Dell Laptop (e.g. Studio or Inspiron). On the Dimension Desktop was one thing that was really annoying you couldn't stream music from the internet and record it. It was something they set in the soundcard which prevented you.

Is it the same in the laptops?

    Thanks.

I have a dell latitude D830 and can record streamed music. I use Replay Music 3, but I see no reason why you can't do it with any other software. It's strange that they can prevent this. Surely whatever can be heard can be recorded, no?

Yes you record a mic for example no problem, but they disabled it when streaming from the web but didn't tell you. Took me 2 days of tearing my hair out to find that out.

    how old is your latitude?
