Flaky DTT time signal? Recordings not happening...

    Hello everyone, happy new year.
This problem has been annoying me the past few weeks, since about the start of December. I'm using a Sagem Picnic, hooked up to a DVD recorder.
Previously, I could schedule a recording on the EPG, put the Sagem into standby, and put the recorder into "Synchro Record" standby. The Sagem would wake up a minute or two before the time, go through its initialising, and wake up the recorder, then both back into standby when the programme is finished.
Now what happens is that it wakes up, initialises, but goes back to sleep immediately with four dashes instead of the time.
The same thing happens when I apply power first thing - four dashes instead of the time, as it used to do. Once its been fully on, and then put into standby, the time is displayed.
Anyone else having a similar problem, with different equipment maybe?
There is no facility to manually set the time, is this standard practice with other receivers?
Strange thing is, maybe 1 in 10 times (very rarely anyway) it will get the time when powered on.
Also, the the time signal is around 20 seconds behind the analogue time signal, as displayed on the DVD recorder. It used to be within a second or two.
Any observations gratefully accepted, it's really bugging me!
