owner/creator permissions

I set up my hard drive originally to disable permissions for local users and have one local admin user to be able to change the hard drive. (Long story)

Recently started using windows 7 and moved the hard drive over... permissions were working fine Then for an unknown cause the permissions got scewed up. Nobody was able to change the disk permissions. I "systemed" (ran explorer as system) another machine because system was the only user that had full control and went in and was able to salvage the permissions to everyone full control. The problem is that the "owner/creator" permissions keep blanking to nothing. I set them to full on the systemed computer but when i plug it back into my windows 7 machine they're completly blank (ie read/write/modify or anything for creator/owner)

Probably a foolhardy move to begin with but anyone any ideas? google hasn't given me much.
