Missed this last year but I believe it was great tournie, a few of us are on about heading up for a go in one qualifier this year. If i'm not mistaken didn't Brendan Dolan beat Aodhagen in the final? guess i'll need to be on top form if I head up to even win a leg.

Very well run tournament. Last Year Brendan Dolan bt Aodhagen O'Neill in the Final. Other final night qualifiers in 2009 were:

    Steven Ganley
    Andrew Dempsey
    Colin Maxwell
    Bob Alexander
    John Joe Dolan
    Sean McGowan

Looking forward to getting up a few nights for this as I live less than 7 miles away. Met some great people through this last year. For any good darts players who have never made it up, you don't know what you are missing. Great nights craic. Will hopefully have some weekly updates from this as it starts.

52 entries, a great start to the tournament. EAMON McGOVERN , from Irvinestown , Co.Fermanagh won the first heat with a fine victory over last years beaten finalist Aodhagen O'Neill. Aodhagen had qualified for the final with a very impressive victory over Brendan Dolan, 3-1 in legs finishing off with a sweet 11 dart leg. Eamon found himself 2-2 in his semi with Sligo's Paul Fox and his opponent 101 left, Eamon on 162. Eamon hit a ton, Paul hit t20 1, and just missed d20 before Eamon took out the remainder in 2 darts t10 d16 to reach the final. A great 111 checkout in the first sent Eamon on the way to victory, and he sealed a 3-1 victory and a place in the final.

54 entries and the standard again was excellent. Aodhagen O Neill from Co.Cavan was the qualifier on night two with a fine display.. In the Semi finals Aodhagen defeated Sean McGowan of Sligo in a great game. John Joe Dolan defeated Gordon Burleigh in the other semi final. Earlier Gordon had beaten Brendan Dolan with some precise finishing. In the final, Aodhagen was ahead 1-0 and 2-1 before a fine 70 finish sealed his place in the final night, Sean a bit unlucky to loose after a fine night of darts from him. 52 entries on the night and very much looking forward to the next round.

Sean McGowan went one better than last week and produced an excellent performance to win through to the finals night. Sean defeated Mickey Dolan in the semi final, whilst at the same time on another board Mickey Mansell from Co.Tyrone pulled out 13 and 15 dart legs to defeat irish international player Michael Timoney in one of the best displays of the tournament so far and thus set up an interesting final pairing. Sean however was able to banish the ghosts of the previous week to produce a display fitting of an international player to get the better of Mansell 3-1, checking out clinically on 96 to take control of the game and 70 to seal it. A quite breathtaking display of darts with the highest checkout of the night going to fermanaghs very own golden girl, Denise Cassidy a 160, and 52 participants, it is certainly starting to get interesting in Eamons Piano Bar on a monday night. Get up quick, 5 nights to go everybody welcome.

46 entrants, starting at 10pm and finishing at 1.10am not a bad nights work by the organizers and Noel Reilly played some of his best darts to win his place in the final night. In the first couple of rounds Noel had only one leg and he powered through to a tough semi final against Brendan Dolan. Noel was on his very best form to win very impressively, 3-0. Meanwhile on the board beside Richard McDermott was showing great form to over come Daithi Reilly, again on a 3-0 scoreline and this included, 13 and 16 dart legs. The final looked like it could go to a final leg decider, but Noel had different ideas and he left off from his semi final with a clinical 3-0 win, the game chalked by previous weekly winner Aodhagen O'Neill. The final night is now taking great shape now and the next few weeks should see some more new and old face returning to The Piano bar to stake a claim for the big prize pot on finals night. See you there.

49 entrants in the latest round and Brendan Dolan won through to the final night although he had a few scares along the way. Noel Gileece, from nearby Boho and only returning to the local darts scene after a spell away from the game was 2-0 down in his semi final with Brendan before a spirited comeback saw him level at 2-2. An unlucky bounceout turned a 140 into an 80 and opened the door for Dolan to seal the game on d10 and a place in the final. On the other board Mickey Mansell, that fine left hand thrower from Clonoe , Co.Tyrone was facing a newcomer to this tournament, Patrick keane from Longford who had impressed many with his run to the semis. Mansell edged it 3-2, with some great darts on his own throw. In the final he was unable to repeat that form, with Brendan finishing the game with a 14 dart leg to seal his place in the final night 3-0, but surely it won't be long before Mansell can also seal his place. His run to the final included a win over a finalist from last year, Andrew Dempsey from Longford in the first round, a notable scalp for the tyrone thrower.

John Joe Dolan was the winner in week six beating Michael Timoney 3-1 in the final but had earlier stared elimination in the face whilst 2-0 down to Enniskillens Richard Reid , with reid having 3 darts on the d20 to progress. Dolan reeled back the years with a gritty display to progress. His semi final against Sligos Michael Healey saw some great darts , with Dolan coming through 3-2. Michael Timoney sealed a 3-1 semi finals win over Longfords Steven Ganley closing the match with a 15 dart leg finishing 90 (20 20 bull) however John Joe went one better in the final closing out on 14 darts with 15 D20 to seal a 3-1 victory. 46 entrants on the night and great standard as usual. Only two weeks for all you darters out there to claim a final place.

Enniskillen's Richard Reid was the Winner on the night in a great final against Campbell Jackson of Tyrone. 45 entrants on the night, the last four were familiar faces in this tournament with Campbell Jackson facing up to the very consistant Michael Timoney, Whilst Richard faced up to Fermanagh's Top Lady player Denise Cassidy. Jackson reached the final With a 3-2 win, Michael a shade unlucky, but must go into the final week as a leading contender for finals night. Richard saw off Denise Cassidy with 151 and 82 (bull d16) finshes 3-1 and the final stage was set for these two fine young darters.

With Campbell looking to get back for a cosy two dart shot in the first, Reid stole the initiative with a fine 91 kill on the bull. Then Campbell, who earlier had hit back to back 13 darters, leveled and then went ahead with a d16 to seize the lead. Reid was however not to be denied, with Jackson sitting on D8, Reid took out his second 151 in consecutive games (t20 t17 d20 ) to bring the game into a exciting final leg. Campbell again had the lead going into the final darts, however with another excellent finish of 72, Richard gained a reward for some near misses in the last few years of this tournament by reaching his first finals night.

As for Campbell Jackson, defeat was tough on him after some smashing darts on the night, and after loosing the North Fermanagh open held two days before at the Lough Erne Hotel , Kesh to Eamon McGovern, but alike Michael Timoney, he will go into the last week with a strong claim to a Final place. A couple of players who made last years final night, Colin Maxwell and Andrew Dempsey had fallen before the semi finals and along with Richard McDermott, also defeated on the night in an earlier round, they should feature in what is building up to a very Exciting final night on Monday 8th March...

To all darters who are serious about their game, If you are available, ONE PLACE REMAINS..... Be there next Monday night at 9pm..... Good Luck.

49 Entries in the final heat of the 2010 tournament and after a few near misses Campbell Jackson took his place among the final contenders with some solid displays. He reached the semi final where he took on Richard McDermott who had been in great form on the night to reach the last four. Jackson starting off well and in among the treble 20 early recorded a 3-0 victory in 16, 15 and 16 darts. Longfords Andrew Dempsey was hoping to reach the finals for the second year in a row and a 3-1 win over Paul Maguire set him up for a last four meeting with Michael Timoney, another player very unlucky not to have reached the final night at this stage. Timoney was not to be denied as he strode into the final 3-0.
Jackson again started off at a blistering pace and he took the first with Michael sitting on a 3 dart outshot. A 100 checkout in the second as michael just missed a 78 shot gave Jackson the breathing space he needed and he wrapped up an emphatic 3-0 win on the night , Micheal however loosing nothing in defeat and after a long layoff from the game, it wont be long until he takes a major prize in the remainder of the season.

Brendan Dolan regained the title after last nights grand final night in Eamons Piano Bar , Blacklion. The Quarter Final Paired him up with Sligo's Sean McGowan and it went all the way, with McGowan taking out a 13 darter to force the decider, Brendan finishing the game in 15 darts with a 68 kill on Double 4.
The Semi Final saw him Face Enniskillen's Richard Reid who had taken out a strongly fancied Eamon McGovern 4-3 in his quarter final finishing the match with a 100 checkout. Reid who had some very notable checkouts on his qualifier night started well with a 120 finish to lead 1-0 , Dolan taking the next two, before a routine 48 by Reid tied the game at 2-2. Dolan seized the initiative however with a tidy 93 shot t19 d18 and this gave him the darts in the next leg and he sealed his final place on a 5-2 scoreline.

Strabane's Campbell Jackson started the night off in sensational fashion with a stunning 4-0 win over Aodhagen O'Neill setting him up with a semi final against John Joe Dolan who had came from 3-1 down to peg back Noel Reilly 4-3 in his quarter final. Dolan taking the first in 15 darts with a 116 kill. The Next 4 legs were shared evenly before another big three dart shot, a 130 from john joe tied the game at 3-3. Campbell then hit top gear taking out a 12 darter (100 180 140 81) and this gave him the darts in the last and he progressed 5-3.

The Final was very even, Brendan going 2-0 up, Jackson hitting back to back 16 darters to level at 2-2 before a 13 dart leg from Brendan saw him lead again 3-2. The Crucial break Brendan needed arrived in leg 6. Campbell very unlucky to bust 132 (hitting t20 t20 and just landing in the bottom of the d13 bed) Brendan took the leg and had a 2 leg cushion. Despite jackson reducing arrears to 4-3 Dolan Pushed on in the next two legs and sealed the Title for 2010, 6-3 the final scoreline.

Congratulations To Brendan , Champion again after another great nine weeks of darts in Eamons in Blacklion and well done also to another fine Fermanagh Darter, Denise Cassidy, who finished with the highest checkout prize, her 160 finish being the best outshot of the tournament.
