At the minute I live in Dublin and was wondering if any operators (Travel Agent or Airline) provided flights to the South Coast of Turkey, Antalya or Mersin from Ireland. Even in the summertime. Or to centres near these areas.

Alternatively are there any services from Britain or Continetal Europe, I'm sure many European nationals get to fly straight in these areas.

BTW, what charters/schedules flights operate out of Ireland to Turkey at the moment

Finally, if there are any Budgert airlines that specilaise in Turkey that operate from airports in western Europe.

im a regular visitor to Alanya in Turkey but the problem is at this time of year you have to fly from Dublin To Istanbul & then a connecting flight to Antalalya
thats with turkish airlines. then a 2hr car drive to alanya which is hassle however from May to start of October Onur Air operate a charter flight direct to Antalya from Dublin weekly which is great altough you still have a 2hr drive to Alanya As far as i know there is more choice in the uk if your going to Antalya Thomas cook, thomson etc do charter flights to Antalya Not sure about Mersin

Thanks, I checked the germanwings website.
It looks like a transfer through Cologne to get to Antalya airport. Although they showed and Antalya - Dublin direct. But tthings don't pick up until the summer.

I have a good start to plan some stuff. Thanks again for the help.
(But don't let that stop anyone else posting).

Whats the story with the airport in Gazipasa, is it opening to international flights? It would be great if it is seeing as its only 15 minutes from Alanya.

I was over yhere last September and was visiting the airport it was supposed to be open last year but the runway wasnt long enough I think it will only be taking internal flights when its due to open hopefully soon as regards international flights its going to be another year at least

Abbey Travel are now offering a charter service to Antalya from May or so. Saves flying though Istanbul.

    HI bob50
I see you said you travel to Alanya a little bit - can you tell me if you use any particular taxi service there? I am travelling soon with another female friend and am a bit of a safety head and wouldlike the "luxery" of being able to phone a car service/taxi if possible . Any comments helpful thanks

    Hi billybunty,

Thanks for that (please ignore a question to yourself on another Alanya thread).

Finally, finally I can find out what my German and Scandnavian neighbours are experiencing.

Hi there Billybunty well what normally happens when i go alanya normally book flight & bus transfer to alanya. (120kms) which is a pain 2hrs from Antalya to Alanya with a compulsory stop half way on the journey f0r half hour to buy expensive refreshments after 4 1/2 hrs flying from dub to antlaya

last time i was over there a turkish friend collected us in his minibus from antalya we arrived in alanya 90mins later makes all the difference

you can get a taxi from the airport the cost approx 80€ to 90€

    Hi there
    Thanks for the reply.
Am ok with getting the car service from the Airport to Alanya - theres a company we use over there. But am more asking if you use a local taxi company in Alanya? I know there are taxis everywhere but am a little hesitant when I will be with my girlie friend ! Thank you

Do you mind me asking if you have their numbers and are they available for you to call them at any time of day or night? Only reason i'm asking is that from our apt there is a very direct route towards the harbour area but a fair few of the taxis I got last time took a roundabout way and up a few dark streets and its that bit that totally freaks me out! I'm super cautious, but do enjoy myself honest! just "aware" !
