Ok,

After wasting about 15min of my life on the nct website I still haven't found out if I can book an NCT on the site?

I waited until today (Jan 4th = official launch date of new site) to book my test. Not even the usless FAQ has the answer.

Possibly the answer is staring me in the face, although I doubt it.

Any help would be great.

I tried to book my NCT today online, and all I could get was the previous NCT booking information from Aug 2008. So after that, I gave up and booked it over the telephone.

It then took 3 attempts at ringing before someone answered the phone (having said that, the booking was made in a flash once I did get hold of someone).

Same as above, I rang today and the girl I spoke to apologised for the fact that booking online isn't possible at the moment, for whatever reason. Got a choice of dates for the end of the month, in Kerry for what its worth.

hey thanks for all the replies. I was working so only repling now.

What is all this about? I don't have either a booking date or an ID cos my car has never been NCT'd before?? Its a 2006 car BTW.

I think that's your car's registration date, not a test booking date. It should be on your licensing certificate.

I booked mine over the phone a couple of days ago. I had a booking id, but when I checked that since 2010, it said it was in the past. So I couldnt view available days or make a booking without the booking id. I tried using my reg date but as above that just gave me details of an old booking. Maybe I missed something but it seems such an important website is not up to scratch.

Works now(online) - just booked a car for the end of Jan
